The Scout is the most popular Kelly Kettle size. Its 1.2-litre stainless steel kettle boils about four cups at a time on whatever natural fuel you find around you: twigs, bark, pine cones or dry grass. No gas to carry, nothing to run out of, and it works in wind and rain.
Light a small fire in the fire base and sit the kettle on top. The hollow water jacket works like a chimney, so the water boils within minutes. The green whistle tells you when it's ready. For travel, the fire base fits up inside the bottom of the kettle, and it all goes in the drawstring bag.
