The Scout is an Irish wood-fuelled camping kettle that boils about four cups (1.2 litres) in about 3–5 minutes on twigs, bark, pine cones or dry grass — no gas required. It works in wind and rain too.
Light a small fire in the base and sit the kettle on top. The water sits in a hollow jacket around a central chimney, so the heat passes through the middle. The green whistle tells you when it is ready. For travel, the fire base fits up inside the bottom of the kettle, and it all goes in the drawstring bag.
Ideal for couples, small families, camping and fishing, and useful in emergency kits too.
