A good whistle carries much further than your voice and needs no batteries. The BCB Howler Emergency Whistle is incredibly loud, compact and has no moving parts, so there's nothing to jam or freeze.
It's British made and SOLAS approved, and BCB uses it in its Special Forces survival kit. It's also used by mariners and sports people. At just 2 x 5cm, it fits on a rucksack strap, lifejacket or key ring.
