When your raingear starts soaking up water, Nikwax TX.Direct Wash-In restores its Durable Water Repellency (DWR). It is the market-leading wash-in waterproofer, designed specifically for breathable waterproof garments.
Because it goes in the washing machine, the treatment reaches right through the garment, covering seams, tapes and cords as well as the fabric. Water repellency develops as the garment air dries, so there is no need to tumble dry, which saves energy and protects older garments from heat.
Key features
- Wash-in waterproofing for wet weather gear
- Machine or hand wash application
- Maintains breathability
- Full water repellency without tumble drying
- Water-based, non-flammable and fluorocarbon-free
How to use
Clean the garment first with Nikwax Tech Wash in a separate cycle; there is no need to dry it before waterproofing. Remove any non-washable parts and clear detergent build-up from the dispenser. Put a maximum of 2 garments in the machine, use 100ml per garment and run a 30°C synthetic cycle with a slow spin. Do not machine wash garments with dislodged taped seams.
Tips
Dirt and detergent residue mask DWR, so always wash waterproofs with Nikwax Tech Wash rather than ordinary detergent. If your jacket is fairly new, cleaning alone may be enough.
