Wind is the biggest thief of heat at camp. The Fire Maple FMW-510 is a 10-panel folding windscreen that wraps around your stove to keep the flame steady, so your water boils faster and your gas lasts longer.

At 9.5in (about 24cm) tall, it gives generous protection and works with both canister-top and remote canister stoves. The panels fold up flat for packing.

Safety tip: never wrap a windscreen tightly around a gas canister, as it can overheat. Leave a gap for airflow, and with a canister-top stove keep the screen around the burner and pot only.

Yes, the FMW-510 suits both canister-top and remote stoves. With a canister-top stove, never enclose the gas canister, as it can overheat.

What is the difference between the FMW-510 and FMW-503?

The FMW-510 is taller at 9.5in for more protection and suits canister and remote stoves. The FMW-503 is 5.5in and best for low remote canister stoves.

Will a windscreen save gas?

Yes. Blocking the wind keeps more heat on the pot, so water boils faster and you use less fuel.
