The Petromax Perkomax makes aromatic tea or coffee with very little effort. Its percolator principle gives a delicious, full-bodied flavour, and it can prepare up to nine cups at a time.
It's made for indoor and outdoor use, and works over a campfire or barbecue, on a hotplate, a ceramic hob and an induction cooker.
A campfire coffee percolator
- 1.3 litre capacity
- Up to nine cups of coffee or tea
- Enamelled steel
- Works on campfire, BBQ, hotplate, ceramic hob and induction
How a percolator works
As the water heats, it rises up a small tube and flows over the coffee in the round filter at the top. It drips back down through the coffee into the pot, mixes and rises again. The longer it circulates, the stronger your coffee or tea becomes.
Tips for perfect percolator coffee
Use a coarse grind so grounds don't pass through the filter. Once it starts to perk, move it to a gentler heat. Brewing time depends on the heat source and amount of water, so taste and adjust.
