Seam sealing with Gear Aid Seam Grip SIL is the best way to keep water out of a silnylon (silicone-nylon) tent. Previously known as SilNet, this clear sealant dries to a flexible rubber that works on all silicone-treated gear, including tarps and ultralight rucksacks.
Only a silicone sealant will work on silnylon, because silicone only sticks to silicone. One tube seals up to 24ft of seams, and it's also handy for pinhole repairs and small tears.

How to seam seal a silnylon tent
Pitch the tent so the seams are taut. Clean the seams, then apply a thin layer of Seam Grip SIL along the stitching on the outside. Leave it to cure for 3 to 6 hours before packing the tent away.
Ideal for
New trekking pole tents such as the 3F UL Lanshan, silnylon tarps and repairing small holes.
