The Kelly Kettle Base Camp is the largest Kelly Kettle, a stainless steel storm kettle that boils 1.6 litres, about six cups, at a time. Instead of gas, it runs on natural fuel lying around: twigs, dry grass, heather, birch bark or pine cones.
How a storm kettle works. Light a small fire in the steel fire base and sit the kettle on top. Water is held in a double wall around a central chimney, so the heat passes through the middle of the water. Feed small sticks down the chimney to keep it going.
Built for all weather. Kelly Kettle says it boils within minutes in good or harsh conditions, and a green whistle lets you know when it's done.
Ideal for families, anglers, car camping, Scout groups, allotments and caravanning. It's also good for emergency kits.
