BCB's Emergency Sleeping Bag is a full-size polythene bag that keeps wind and rain off if you are caught out overnight, injured or lost. Vacuum packed to 10 x 20 x 3cm and weighing 140g, it fits easily in a first aid kit, rucksack or car.
Waterproof outer layer. Slide your sleeping bag inside and it becomes a waterproof cover, which helps when bivvying or if your tent leaks. Condensation builds up inside polythene, so expect your sleeping bag to feel damp by morning.
Medium-gauge polythene. At 160 gauge, it is tougher than a thin foil blanket and less likely to tear on rough ground.
Military approval. BCB lists this bag as NATO approved.
It is a sensible addition to any walker's, cadet's or wild camper's emergency supplies, and worth keeping in the car for winter breakdowns. Once opened, it will not fold back down to its vacuum-packed size.
