Produced in the heart of the French Alps since 1890, the Opinel pocket knife draws its simplicity and durability from its mountain roots. It's now a recognised design icon, handed down from generation to generation, and still a favourite for DIY, camping and countryside picnics.
This is Opinel's popular carbon steel range, with a tinted, varnished beech handle.

Caring for a carbon steel blade
Carbon steel takes a very keen edge and is easy to sharpen, but it can rust. Wipe it dry after use, oil it lightly now and then, and expect it to develop a natural dark patina over time.
Over 18s only. We will not sell knives to anyone under 18. Under UK law it is illegal to carry a lock knife, a fixed-blade knife, or a folding knife with a blade over 3 inches in public without good reason.
