The Mars is Fire Maple's stove system for mountains, winter camping and bad weather. Instead of an open flame, it uses a radiant burner with a pressure regulator. The flame is fully enclosed inside the heat exchanger, so wind barely touches it and almost all of the heat goes into your pot.
In Fire Maple's lab, it boiled 0.5 litres in 1 minute 40 seconds using just 5.2g of gas, and a full litre in about 3 minutes 20 seconds. The gas canister connects on a separate hose, which keeps the stove low and stable and the valve away from the burner. It's also noticeably quieter than a standard roaring stove. An extra pot support lets you use other pots and pans.
