The Flip Plate Bushbox XL is a dual-sided accessory for your Bushbox XL.
Placed on top of the stove, it serves as a robust frying or grill plate, ideal for frying, grilling and roasting over an open fire. Its slightly curved shape keeps food securely in place and prevents it from slipping off or fat from dripping into the fire.
When you turn the Flip Plate over, it serves as ground protection and a stable base for your Bushbox XL. It protects the surface underneath from heat, embers and ash—especially important on sensitive or dry ground.
The Flip Plate Bushbox XL can also be used as a dry base for fire-making or food preparation.
Usage tips:
- The plate can be placed on and removed using the Bushbox XL Trivets. Wear gloves, as the Flip Plate becomes very hot.
- Use a high-heat cooking oil for grilling and frying.
- When operating the stove with the plate on top, use charcoal (or pellets). This ensures moderate, even heat. When using wood, there is a risk of overheating.
The Flip Plate Bushbox XL is robust, heat-resistant and designed for long-term outdoor use. Nevertheless, uneven heating (e.g. due to wind or the quantity and type of fuel) may cause minimal warping, which does not affect the functionality of the Flip Plate.
